NRA Basic Range Safety Officer

This non-shooting course is designed to provide NRA (National Rifle Association) Certified Range Safety Officers with the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations. NRA Range Safety Officer candidates should be experienced shooters, involved in many aspects of target shooting, training, and range supervision. The NRA encourages active shooters to learn more and become responsible for the safety of fellow shooters through this program. You must be 21 years old to take this course. Throughout the 1 day (9 hour) course we will learn:

  • Roles and responsibilities of an RSO

  • Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Range inspection

  • Range rules

  • Range briefings

  • Emergency procedures

  • Firearm stoppages and malfunctions

What Students Should Bring to Class:

  • Lunch

  • Note taking materials

Range Safety Officer Candidates will receive a RSO Student Study Guide & receive an NRA course completion certificate.
